Steven
Ashley, MS, MLS, ARM
Steven Ashley is a is
former career (Michigan) law enforcement officer who ultimately decided
to expand his horizons. Mr. Ashley, a member of MENSA, decided to
further his education, and professional challenges, going on to complete
undergraduate and graduate studies in Criminal Justice.
Steve has
distinguished himself as a police policy analyst while working as a risk
management specialist within the insurance industry. His "Police Pursuit
Driving Continuum" is still an industry standard by which any other such
devices would have to be measured against.
Throughout the last
decade, Steve has been a frequent speaker at ASLET annual conferences.
He also served as an adjunct staff instructor at a Detroit-area
community college, as well as with Smith & Wesson Academy, where he was
a co-instructor in the "Advanced Force & Control Instructor" program
with Tom Aveni.

Chief Alex
Fanfarillo, III BA
Alex
is a 23-year police veteran, holding the rank of Chief with a New
Jersey Police Department. He has a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Rowan
University, and has served over 11 years as a member of a county SWAT
Team, as an Operator, Team Leader, and currently the Operations Officer.
Alex has maintained professional memberships in the NTOA, ASLET, and
IALEFI.
Alex's background as a trainer includes
instructor certifications in the use of force, ballistic shields,
chemical munitions, aerosol systems restraint, less then lethal
munitions, distraction devices, handcuffing, baton, sub-machine guns,
law enforcement rifles, shotguns, and pistols. He has served as an
adjunct instructor for the UPCO (Universal Propulsion Company), Smith &
Wesson Firearms Company, and MSI / Federal Laboratory Companies.
Chief
Gilbert DuVernay, MPA, CPP
Bert is the past Director of
Smith & Wesson Academy, where he had been a staff member since 1990. He
is a graduate of the Master of Public Administration Degree program at
the University of Massachusetts and is a graduate of Ohio University
with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice.
His
background includes 27 years of police service, both fulltime and
parttime, as well as six years of college teaching and security
consultation. He is a police officer with the Hardwick and New Braintree
(MA) Police Departments.
He has
been designated a Certified Protection Professional by the American
Society of Industrial Security and is a member of the American Society
of Law Enforcement Trainers, International Association of Law
Enforcement Firearms Instructors, the National and Ohio Tactical
Officers Associations. |
