Raymond C. Ferrara CPP, CPO, CBM, MEd
Raymond C. Ferrara is the Criminal Justice Instructor for New Horizons Regional
Education Center Woodside Lane, Newport News Virginia. Ray is board certified
in security management (CPP) through the American Society for Industrial
Security (ASIS),
is a Certified Protection Officer through the International Foundation for
Protection Officers, he is also a Certified Business Manager through the
Association of Professionals in Business Management. Ray is also certified
through the state of Virginia to teach both law enforcement and private
security.
Ray is a former Virginia State Trooper serving the Hampton/Newport News Area as
a patrol K- 9 handler and traffic enforcement trooper. He also worked for
Anheuser Busch Corporation as the Security Manager for Busch Gardens and Water
Country USA. He is a retired United States Marine Corps officer and pilot
flying CH – 46 and UH – 1 helicopters. He also flew the CT – 39 business jet
for the Marine Corps and was an aviation safety officer.
Recently, Ray was published in the Journal of Healthcare Protection Management
on identity theft and has provided security consulting for Coastal Productions.
Ray has provided security assessment and business continuity services for
numerous contacts in the Tidewater area. He enjoys martial arts and is a 2nd
degree black belt in hapkido and can be seen in James County, Virginia cruising
the roadways as an auxiliary police officer.
